With the addition of the Buick
franchise in 1996, it became clear that the current facilities were
inadequate to handle the increased inventory as well as the increase in
service and maintenance volume.

Jay Automotive Group was operating seven facilities (with used cars) in four different locations throughout the Columbus
area as well as two body shops and a parts warehouse. The idea of
having all of this in one place was very appealing. The challenge was
finding a large enough piece of land in a growing area of town.

Construction began in March 1997 and lasted fifteen months. The Auto Mall
had its grand opening in June of 1998. It is the first of its kind in
the area and represents the ultimate in sales and service facilities
for our customers and employees. In addition to the seven new car
franchises and the used car supercenter, there is also a
state-of-the-art collision center, a 50,000 square foot parts warehouse
and a two-story administration center. |
